Today we installed a 2 inch receiver hitch and 4 way flat wiring harness onto a 2016 Audi Q5. The hitch and wiring we found that works best for this vehicle is manufactured by Curt, hitch #13136 and wiring kit #56404. This receiver hitch is rated for 5,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 750 lbs tongue weight. The wiring required us to remove trunk plastic panels and run wires to the battery located in the back of the car.
Today we installed roof racks on top of a canopy for a 2018 Toyota Tundra. The roof rack system we found that works best for fiberglass canopies is made by Rhino Rack. This installation required us drill through the canopy and install the track using bolts, nuts and silicone sealant. Once attached, the feet that we used are Rhino Racks RLT 600's paired with VA 165B crossbars which have channel mount capability. The weight capacity for this setup is rated for 165lbs.
Today we installed a Retrax XR bed cover and a BedRug onto a 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD. The Retrax XR bed cover uses rollers to slide in and out of the canister, located in the bed of the truck closest to the cab and can lock in any desired position. The bed cover is waterproof keeping the bed of your truck dry using hoses from the canister that we drilled into the bed drain pockets. The weight capacity for the top of the bed cover is rated for 500lbs. This bed cover from Retrax can accommodate crossbars using the XR's channel mount side rail system. The BedRug was installed by wiping down the desired area where the velcro was to be placed and making sure it was securely fastened.
Yesterday we installed crossbars and roof top tents on to a Retrax XR bed cover for a Toyota Tacoma. To mount the crossbars on to the Retrax bed cover we used Rhino Rack's RLT 600 feet, which we paired with Rhino VA150B crossbars. The Retrax XR bed cover load weight capacity can handle up to 500lbs. The weight capacity for the crossbar system that sits in the channels of the bed cover is 165 lbs. The crossbars are equipped with channel mount capability; however, that was not needed for the roof top tent installations. The roof top tents we installed onto this vehicle are 3 person Yakima SkyRises size medium. The tents were fairly easy to mount using twist clamp feet mounts that attached to the Rhino VA150B crossbars.
Today we installed a 2" receiver hitch onto a Volkswagen Golf. The hitch we found that would work best for the vehicle is manufactured by Torklift model #X7315. This receiver hitch weight capacity is rated for 300lbs tongue weight and 2,000 pound towing weight. To install this hitch it required us to remove the bumper.
Today we installed a receiver hitch on a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. The hitch we found that would work best for this vehicle was manufactured by Curt, hitch #13382. This hitch's capacity is rated for 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight and 525 lbs tongue weight.
Today we installed crossbars onto a 2019 Volvo XC90. The crossbar setup we found that would work best for the vehicle is manufactured by Thule. The crossbars we used are Wingbar Evo 135B and are attached to the vehicle with Rapid Podium feet using fit Kit 4058. These feet and crossbars have a weight capacity of 165 lbs on road. The Wingbar Evo crossbars have track mount capability for future accessory mounting.
This weekend we installed a roof rack track system on the canopy of a 2019 GMC Canyon. The roof rack track system we found that would work best for this canopy uses Thule's Top Track Pair, combined with Rhino Rack's RLT600 feet and VA137B crossbars. Having a track system gives you the advantage to move the feet any desired position within the track length. The VA137B crossbars from Rhino Rack have track mount capability for future accessories to be mounted. The installation of this roof rack track system required us to drill through the canopy and secure the track bolts to the track using RTV.
