January 26, 2022We installed crossbars and a ski rack onto a 2019 BMW X5. The crossbars are manufactured by Thule and the ski racks by Kuat. The crossbars are attached by clamping around the vehicles existing siderails using Thule Kit 186007 and Evo Flush Rail foot pack. Kuat's ski rack known as the Switch 4 has the ability to hold up to four pairs of skis and can fold down for aerodynamic performance when not in use.

We've decided to go with a Thule Set up for this X4, utilizing the Thule Wingbar Evo crossbars. These, paired with Thule Evo Flush Rail feet and Kit 186007, make for a snug and secure fit.

You don't see this often, but here we've installed a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform to this BMW 300i. The Pioneer Platform is ideal for mounting things like gas cans, spare tires, traction boards, etc. We paired the platform with Rhino Rack Vortex SX feet, which utilize the BMW factory rails.

Today we installed a 1 1/4 inch hitch onto a 2019 BMW 328d. The hitch we found that works best for this vehicle is manufactured by Curt, hitch #11367. To install this hitch we had to remove the bumper. This hitch weight capacity is rated for 2,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight.
